Standing Tall in Stillwater, OK

Stillwater is a fine city located in north-central Oklahoma. It's the seat of Payne County, set just off Highway 412, and is just over an hour outside of Oklahoma City. Affectionately known as "cowboy country," Stillwater is known for it's music scene, local history, and is home to the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. Be sure to pick up some tickets to a football game and head to Boone Pickens Stadium. Stillwater is also the home of Red Dirt Music, a mixture of folk, country, blues and rock. Stillwater has a number of art venues such as the Gardiner Art Gallery, and historic attractions like the Sheerar Museum & Cultural Center. Be sure to visit the National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum, and the Washington Irving Trail Museum. Stillwater has fun for the kids, too, at the Oklahoma WONDERtorium Children's Museum. And for those looking to explore, head outdoors for some fishing, hiking, boating and other recreational activities at Boomer Lake Park, Lake Carl Blackwell, Whittenberg Lake, Lake McMurtry and Sanborn Lake.
